I Want Zhu Zhu Pets!

This being hottest childrens toy is hard to find!  The Zhu Zhu Pets Hamsters are advertised at Target and Walmart, but you might reckon they’ve gone extinct.

You’ve doubtless gone from store to store trying to find Zhu Zhu Pets, only to see empty shelves and “sold out” signs.  Stores have been even putting limits on how many hamsters can be bought at one time in an attempt to stop people from road sign them!

This is akin to Christmas’s past.  Do you dredge up Cabbage Patch Kids, Beenie Babies or Star Wars toys?  It’s unfortunate, but the toy companies with intent manipulate their inventory and shipments to keep have a supply of low and plea high.

Combine that with a handful of people keen to profit from the frenzy, and you have the perfect storm.  Supply and plea will dictate that prices will go through the roof!  If you can wait (and make it through the screaming and tears of disappointment) until after the new year, I can nearly guarantee that you’ll see the prices drop to the retail price.  I cringe at paying up to $100 for an 8 dough toy, but if you’ve got to have it, you’ve got to have it.

You will find pretty much all of the Zhu Zhu Pets and their accessories through this link to amazon. What you will find is third party vendors who have snapped them up from the stores and then are reselling them as a merchant on Amazon.com for a profit.

You could always try vacant to the retail stores or getting on the Toys R Us waiting list… you might get lucky.  Maybe if your kids are ancient enough, they will know a “coupon” for one after the new year. (not MY 4 year ancient though :p)
